Logistics service provider H.Z. Logistics became too substantial for its current premises at Westerlee, De Lier. In 2017, Triple Group carried out a logistical study for the layout of the site and accommodation, in which a number of layout proposals were developed for the most optimal solution. After purchasing a plot at the Honderdland business park in Maasdijk, Triple Group was asked to take on the project management for the realization.
The goals were determined in the first conversations with the entrepreneurs. The new cross-dock center will be a customized DC of allure, which will be built under BREAAM-NL Excellent certification, which guarantees that this new construction project scores excellent in terms of sustainability. The in/storage and transhipment center must be spacious and flexible to handle future volume growth and must be equipped with its own garage for maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
Being the project manager we act like ‘the a spider in the web’ that unburdens the client. From day one we follow our own step-by-step plan for this type of assignment in which everything comes together: process, coordination and budget. At the start, the wishes and frameworks of the client and the government were clearly stated. The logistics process is leading, only then are the architectural envelope and all other installations designed. We then selected contractors for the construction team and construction started. During construction, as a manager, we provide direction for the entire process and we keep a close eye on the planning and budget, so that the building is realized on time and within budget.
Het bouwproces voor de nieuwbouw van H.Z. Logistics is voorspoedig verlopen. Het nieuwe crossdockcentrum is in het tweede kwartaal van 2023 in gebruik genomen. Sindsdien prijkt de nieuwe hoofdvestiging van H.Z. Logistics langs de A20; 12.000 m2 met 32 docks en een hypermoderne garage met wasstraat voor service en onderhoud van het wagenpark.
